Why I keep building weird interfaces
Why Labs is a fake OS instead of another portfolio grid.
A normal portfolio would have been easier. Grid of projects, About page, contact form. Done.
But I like interfaces that have some personality. Something you can actually interact with. A desktop made sense for the kind of work I wanted to show: software, tools, games, and a bunch of ideas that don't all fit into the same card layout.
The catch is that the joke can't become the problem. Projects still need real links. The pages need to work on a phone. Someone should be able to skip all the OS stuff and just read the work.
That's the balance I'm after. Let it be weird, but don't punish people for trying to use it.
