Rebuilding a WordPress site without losing it

What matters when moving a site away from WordPress.

The first job is to inspect everything. Routes, images, fonts, forms, layouts, scripts, mobile behavior, and whatever strange plugin dependency is holding the site together.

If the original WordPress install is going away, the assets need to live with the new project. Don't rebuild a site and leave half its images pointing at a server that's about to disappear.

I like to get the page structure and visuals accurate before trying to improve things that were never part of the original scope. Then make sure links, forms, metadata, mobile layouts, and basic accessibility still work.

A migration is successful when it looks right and nothing important gets left behind. Changing the technology isn't the win by itself.
